On the  Issuance of Special  Tourist Visa (STV) and Tourist Visa (TR)

          Due to the changes in the regulations to obtain Special  Tourist Visa (STV) and Tourist Visa (TR), the Royal Thai Embassy in Nur-Sultan wishes to nullify the Embassy’s Announcement No. 42/2563 dated 8 October 2020 on the Issuance of Special Tourist Visa (STV) and Announcement No. 43/2563 dated 21 October 2020 on the Issuance of Tourist Visa (TR) and to announce the new regulations to receive Special  Tourist Visa (STV) and Tourist Visa (TR) as follows:

  1. Special Tourist Visa (STV) :

    The STV is for single-entry only, not transferable to other visa types and valid for up to 90 days (with possibility of two extensions, of 90 days each). Applications made close to the end of the STV programme (30 September 2021) may not be eligible for extensions in Thailand. In addition, applicants granted with the STV will also be required to apply for a Certificate of Entry (COE) from the Embassy to entry into Thailand.

    The Applicants for STV must follow these steps in order to get all the documents required to enter the Kingdom of Thailand:

    STEP 1 : please send the following documents to the Embassy’s email ([email protected]) for an STV visa issuance:

     1.1 Copy of passport (with validity no less than 6 months)

     1.2 Declaration form

     1.3 A copy of certificate of criminal record clearance from country of permanent residence. The certificate must be valid not less than 3 months.

     1.4 Accommodation :

                    1.4.1 For the first 14 days after arrival to Thailand : Proof of reservation of designated Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) hotel accommodation. (list of ASQ can be found at http://hsscovid.com/ )

                    1.4.2 Proof of Accommodation after quarantine period :

                            1.4.2.1 In case the applicant or family member owns a condominium, please submit :

              (1) A copy of Confirmation of applicant property ownership OR

              (2) A family member’s property ownership (spouse and children under 20 years old), please submit a copy of document indicating relationship

                             1.4.2.2 In case of staying in a hotel, a rental condominium/ house please submit :

                                            (1) A copy of booking confirmation directly from the hotel at least for 75 days or through the period of staying in Thailand **after 14 days quarantine (ASQ)**, with name, address, contact details and tax payment ID number of the hotel and

   (2) A Copy of a recent bank statement ($700 per person and $1,500 per family).  The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly), In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.

               1.5 A Medical Certificate in English and issued no longer than 3 months before the submission indicating that the applicant has no (1) Leprosy (2) Tuberculosis (3) Elephantiasis (4) Drug Addiction (5) Third Step of Syphilis.

               1.6 Confirmed Air Booking : the list of air operators participating in semi-commercial flights program can be found at this link

              1.7 A copy of valid medical/health insurance certificate from Thailand indicating that:

                      (1) it covers for at least 90 days (from your arrival date) or the whole period of stay in Thailand;

                      (2) it has medical benefit in Thailand for outpatient which must not be less than 40,000 Baht;

                      (3) it has medical benefit in Thailand for inpatient which must not be less than 400,000 Baht;

                     (4) it covers all medical expenditures, including COVID-19 for the amount of at least USD 100,000.

                   The applicant must buy an insurance from a company which has been approved by the Office of Insurance Commission of Thailand which can be found at https://longstay.tgia.org/home/companiesoa

          STEP 2: If the application is approved, the Embassy will send email to the applicant to come to the Embassy to apply for a visa. Visa Fee is 80 USD for a Single entry. We accept cash only. The Embassy will then issue an STV visa within 5 working days after the applicant comes to the Embassy to submit documents. For COE issuance, the applicant can visit website coethailand.mfa.go.th after receiving a visa.

  1. 2. Tourist Visa (TR) :

        The TR is for single-entry only, not transferable to other visa types and valid for up to 60 days upon arrival to the Kingdom of Thailand (with possibility of an extension of 30 days). In addition, applicants granted with a tourist visa will also be required to apply for a Certificate of Entry (COE) from the Embassy to entry into Thailand. The Applicants for a tourist visa must follow these steps in order to receive all the documents required to enter the Kingdom of Thailand:

        STEP 1 : please send the following documents to the Embassy’s email ([email protected]) for a Tourist Visa issuance:

        1.1 Copy of passport (with validity no less than 6 months)

         1.2 Declaration form

         1.3 Accommodation :

                                            (1) A copy of booking confirmation directly from the hotel or throughout the period of staying in Thailand (**after 14 days quarantine - ASQ**), with name, address, contact details and tax payment ID number of the hotel

              1.4 Evidence of adequate finance : A Copy of a recent bank statement ($700 per person and $1,500 per family).  The name of the applicant must be indicated clearly), In case of submitting a family bank statement, proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.

              1.5 Confirmed Air Booking the list of air operators participating in semi-commercial flights program can be found at this link

              1.6 An employment letter indicating the position of the applicant, length of employment, salary, length of paid leave etc.

              1.7 A copy of valid Health Insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 100,000 for medical treatment expenses of COVID-19 during all the stay period in Thailand.

          STEP 2: If the application is approved, the Embassy will send an email to the applicant to come to the Embassy or the Honorary Consulate to apply for a visa. Visa Fee is 40 USD for a Single entry. We accept cash only. The Embassy/Honorary Consulate will then issue a visa within 5 working days. For COE issuance, the applicant can visit website coethailand.mfa.go.th after receiving a visa.

  1. At the Airport of Departure : During flight check-in for departure, the applicant must present the airline officer the following documents : (1) Certificate of Entry, issued by the Royal Thai Embassy (2) Filled Declaration form (3) The original COVID-free Health Certificate in English (COVID-19 is not detected and the COVID test must be by RT-PCR method) (4) The original “Fit to Fly” doctor’s certificate in English, issued no more than 72 hours before departure (5) Health insurance with a minimum coverage of USD 100,000 for medical treatment expenses of COVID-19 during stay in Thailand (6) Booking confirmation of the Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) and (7) A valid STV/TR visa
