On 23 April 2025 H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, visited the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF 2025), held between 23 - 25 April 2025, at Atakent Exhibition Centre, Almaty, and joined Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Executive Director, European, Africa, Middle East and Americas Region, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Ms.Kanchana Sing-udom, Director, TAT, Moscow Office, in the opening ceremony of Thailand’s booth at the exhibition.
At this year KITF, the TAT, Moscow Office, leads 12 Thai companies in tourism industry, including hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agents, to participate in Kazakhstan’s annual international tourism event. Besides the main highlight of the all-year-round Campaign on Amazing Thailand and Tourism and Sport Year 2025, the concepts of Five Grand, namely, Grand Festivity, Grand Moment, Grand Privilege, Grand Invitation and Grand Celebration, as well as Five Must Activities, namely Must Taste, Must Try, Must Buy, Must Seek and Must See, were widely promoted, and received a great attention from international participants and media during the event.
In the past few years, Kazakhstan has been one of Thailand’s fastest growing tourism markets, as in 2024 alone, Thailand recorded almost 200,000 visitors from Kazakhstan, marking a significant increase of 13 percent from 2023, and 277 percent increase after the pandemic. While the first quarter of 2025 already witnessed almost 90,000 Kazakh visitors, and the number is expected to hit a record high towards the end of the year.
