On 20 February 2026, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, met with H.E. Mr. Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), prior to the visit of the CICA Secretary General to Thailand from 24 - 27 February 2026. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on key developments of CICA, particularly the priorities of Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of CICA for the period 2025 - 2026, as well as the process of transforming CICA into a fully-fledged international organization. They also discussed the role of the CICA Secretariat in promoting cooperation among its member states, which currently number 28, including Thailand.
