On 19 December 2025, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Mr. Kairat Sarybay, Secretary General of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), at the CICA Secretariat in Astana, Kazakhstan. On this occasion, the Ambassador presented a financial contribution of 500,000 Thai Baht to support the operations of the CICA Secretariat. The contribution was made under the Goodwill Budget for Fiscal Year 2026 allocated to the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana for the project entitled “Enhancing Thailand’s Engagement within the CICA Framework and Supporting the Operations of the CICA Secretariat through a Voluntary Financial Contribution.”

Thailand has been a member of CICA since 2004, and CICA currently comprises 28 Member States. Thailand has consistently played an active role within the framework, serving as Coordinator on Sustainable Development and Co-Coordinator on the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) under the CICA Confidence Building Measures, which constitute a key mechanism for promoting cooperation among CICA Member States. Thailand’s financial contribution reflects its strong commitment to playing a constructive role in regional multilateral cooperation, supporting the effective functioning of the CICA Secretariat, and contributing to the promotion of peace, stability, and sustainable development in Asia.
