On 17 February 2023, H.E. Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand, met with H.E. Mr. Kuanysh Yergaliyev, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan. Both sides expressed interest and readiness to strengthen cooperation in the field of higher education through the grant of scholarship, student exchanges and cooperation between universities of Thailand and Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan has high potential in higher education. There are 16 universities in the QS Ranking and 3 universities in the Times Higher Education Ranking. One of the prominent areas of study is medicine which has been strongly established since the Soviet era. Moreover, there are a large number of international students coming to study medicine in Kazakhstan which is taught in English.
