On 8 November 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana organized an event to promote academic, educational, and cultural cooperation between Thailand and Kazakhstan at Maqsut Naribayev University. On this occasion, Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., and Dr. Ikboljon Qoraboyev, Professor of International Relations of Maqsut Narikbayev University, jointly delivered welcoming remarks and shared their perspectives of ways and means to promote the collaboration between the educational and academic establishments of both countries. During the event, the participants, comprising of more than 30 faculty members and students of the University, learned more about Thailand through a special lecture on the topic “Connecting the Connectivities between Thailand and Kazakhstan” delivered by Mr. Seksan Anantasirikiat, Senior Researcher of the International Studies Center of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and through the Thai snacks and souvenirs. The Thai “Soft Power - Fashion” was also promoted during the event by the Thai Embassy’s female staff who dressed in the Thai national costumes.
