The AIF 2025 was held under the theme “Connecting Minds, Shaping the Future”, drawing more than 5,000 participants, including Heads of States and Governments, Heads of International Organizations, as well as representatives from academia and civil society. Evolving from the Astana Economic Forum (AEF), first launched in 2008, the AIF is structured around four core pillars that reflect today’s most pressing global challenges: (1) Foreign Policy & International Security (2) International Development & Sustainability (3) Energy & Climate Change and (4) Economy & Finance. The Government of Kazakhstan envisions the AIF as a forum for global dialogue and cooperation, and a strategic platform to boost the country’s role as a bridge between the East and the West, as well as between developed and developing countries.
