On 30 May 2024, H.E. Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kyrgyz Republic with residence in Astana, led the team of the Royal Thai Embassy to organize the event “Thailand’s Day in the Kyrgyz Republic” at the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov. The event comprised three activities, namely (1) a hybrid academic seminar on “Perspectives to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation between Thailand and the Kyrgyz Republic”, (2) an exhibition about Thailand’s tourism, Thai food and ingredient products, and other products of Thailand, and (3) and a mini reception to promote Thai food.

The event “Thailand's Day in the Kyrgyz Republic” has received an overwhelming response from more than 300 participants who represented the university's administrators, faculty members, and students, as well as the officials from different government organizations of the Kyrgyz Republic, diplomatic missions, and international organizations in the Kyrgyz Republic. The media of the Kyrgyz Republic also took part in the event and broadcasted the event “Thailand’s Day in the Kyrgyz Republic” on various television channels and social media platforms of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event “Thailand’s Day in the Kyrgyz Republic” has helped promote Thailand’s Soft Power, precisely Thai Food and Thai Fashion (with Kyrgyz students wearing the Thai classical costumes during the event), aiming at enhancing the popularity of Thailand among the people of the Kyrgyz Republic. The event was also targeted to increase the number of Friends of Thailand in the Kyrgyz Republic, especially among young people of the country.
