On 12 - 13 September 2024, Ambassador Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Kazakhstan, entrusted Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, with a trip to Almaty city to welcome a delegation of the Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University and the Thai entrepreneurs from food and cosmetics sectors. The delegation was led by Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, the Center’s Director, with an aim to explore trade opportunities between Thailand and Kazakhstan in the said sectors through networking and business matching activities.

On this occasion, Dr. Orathai took part in the meeting between the Thai delegation and the Rector and executive team of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to discuss ways and means to further promote educational and academic cooperation between Thailand and Kazakhstan. During the said visit to Almaty, Dr. Orathai also had a meeting with the Sergek Group representative to discuss potential collaboration between Thailand and Kazakhstan in the digital sphere and held discussion the ITECA event manager regarding the Thai companies that will participate in the upcoming Qazaq Food Expo 2024, to be held between 13 - 15 November 2024.
