On 26 October 2024, Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana, spearheaded an initiative to celebrate the inaugural flight of Air Astana from Astana to Phuket. The event took place at Astana International Airport, where the Embassy’s staff dressed in traditional Thai costumes and engaged with Kazakh and foreign passengers, inviting them for photo opportunities to promote Phuket of Thailand as a world's premier tourist destination. This activity has significantly bolstered Thailand’s positive image in Kazakhstan and underscored the Embassy’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in tourism and people-to-people connection.
