Visa on Arrival

               Starting from 27 September 2016, Thailand, by the order of Ministry of Interior No. 30 B.E. 2559 (2016) dated 1 July B.E. 2559 (2016), will increase its VoA fee from 1.000 to 2.000 THB. Tourists from countries and territory namely Andorra, Bulgaria, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Ethiopia, India, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Romania, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Taiwan are entitled to apply for VoA at 48 designated immigration checkpoints, which will allow tourists to stay in the country up to 15 days.

            PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY PERSON WHO PLANS TO APPLY FOR VISA ON ARRIVAL HAS TO SHOW CASH IN THE AMOUNT OF US$ 310/PERSON (10,000 Thai Baht) OR US$ 620/FAMILY (20,000 Thai Baht) TO THE THAI IMMIGRATION OFFICER.

              The applicant must produce instrument of means of transport (full paid ticket) which is usable within 15 days since the date of entry.

               Visa on arrival is provided at 48 designated checkpoints and applicants should produce the application form to which three of his/her recent photographs (2.5 inches) are attached.

               Visitors who enter the Kingdom with visa on arrival generally cannot file an application for extension of stay except in special cases such as illness which prevents them from travelling, etc. They can submit an application at The Office of Immigration Bureau, Government Center B, Chaengwattana Soi 7, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, Tel: +662-141-9889 or at http://www.immigration.go.th

N.B. (1) For those who hold travel documents for aliens, namely; alien passport or C.I. can not apply for this temporary tourist visa at the immigration checkpoints. They have to apply for visa at the Thai Embassy or Consulate-General overseas even such documents are issued by the above countries.

        (2) The Royal Thai Government launched the “Online Application for Visa on Arrival” (VoA) service to facilitate passport holders that are eligible to apply for visas at the immigration checkpoints on arrival for the purpose of tourism. Only passengers arriving in Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Airport can apply for the Visa on Arrival online prior to arrival in Thailand.
