On 11 February 2022, Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Mr. Zhoshykhan Kyraubaev, Director of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries as well as on the organization of events to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year. The Ambassador also sought support from the Kazakh side to launch the negotiation process for the eventual conclusion of a Free Trade Agreement between Thailand and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Furthermore, both sides underlined strengthening cooperation in the spheres of trade, investment and tourism, which have much potential to grow in the years ahead.
