On 11 April 2026, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, delivered remarks at the Gulnar Fest International Multigenre Competition, and on 19 April 2026 attended the Nomad Awards 2026. On both occasions, a delegation of 19 performers from Katyusha Dance Academy, Thailand, participated in international competitions held in Astana.

During both events, the Thai dance delegation showcased traditional Thai performing arts, including the Lao Kratop Mai dance, and demonstrated versatility through performances of folk dances from Central Asia and Russia. On these occasions, the Ambassador commended the talents of youth and emerging artists, whose contributions play an important role in promoting mutual understanding among nations through arts and culture. She also underscored the role of performing arts as a bridge connecting the peoples of Thailand and Kazakhstan.

On 16 April 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana hosted a luncheon in honour of the delegation to congratulate them on their success from both competitions. The Ambassador also exchanged views with Ms. Katherine Aliakseyeva, founder and instructor of the Academy, on the role of arts and culture in strengthening international relations, while expressing appreciation for the dedication and potential of the young performers, who help promote Thai culture and enhance a positive image on the international stage.

The participation of the Katyusha Dance Academy, Thailand, serves as a strong example of the power of arts and culture in connecting people and strengthening people-to-people relations, which form an essential foundation for close and sustainable partnerships in the long term.
