On 20 August 2025, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, welcomed and hosted a dinner in honour of the delegation from the Secretariat of the House of Representatives of Thailand, led by Mr. Natthakrit Wongcharoen, Deputy Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, on the occasion of their visit to Kazakhstan to attend the 89th International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions General Conference and Assembl, and the Section on Library and Research Services for Parliaments (IFLAPARL) Annual Conference 2025, held from 17 to 26 August 2025.

Ambassador Piyapin exchanged views with the Deputy Secretary-General and the delegation on the significance of the IFLA Conference, which is the world’s largest international gathering on library cooperation and information technology. This year, Kazakhstan hosted the conference under the theme “Uniting Knowledge, Building the Future”, with the participation of over 1,630 experts from 114 countries, paving the way for the development of library and research services.

On this occasion, the delegation also held discussions with representatives of the National Museum of Kazakhstan and conducted a study visit to the library of Maqsut Narikbayev University, to learn best practices and explore opportunities to enhance future academic and cultural cooperation.
