On 18 September 2026, Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Chargé d'Affaires, a.i., attended a tourism industry networking event "Tourism's Stars", organized by Tourist KamTour of Kazakhstan. The event aimed to strengthen cooperation and recognize tour operators for their outstanding contributions to Kazakhstan's tourism sector. On this occasion, the Chargé d'Affaires, had the honour of presenting an award to KOMPAS Tour Operator in recognition of its outstanding performance in promoting travel by Kazakhstani tourists to Thailand in 2026.

 

           During the event, the Chargé d'Affaires, also met and held discussions with executives of SiamWings Airlines, a Thai airline seeking to expand its business into the Central Asian market. Both sides exchanged views on enhancing air connectivity, promoting Thailand as a quality tourism destination, and expanding cooperation with Kazakhstani tourism operators. These efforts will help facilitate travel and create further economic opportunities for Thailand, in line with Thailand's policy of proactive economic diplomacy.
