On 20 December 2024, Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Chargé d’affaires, a.i. of the Royal Thai Embassy, along with the Embassy’s staff, attended the premiere of the film Bisharashki v Thailand (translated as "The Poor in Thailand") at the Halyk IMAX Kinopark 16 Cinema in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the largest cinema in Central Asia. The event showcased vibrant cultural exchange between Thailand and Kazakhstan, with the Embassy organizing an exhibition to promote Thailand's Soft Power of tourism and Thai fashion. Attendees also enjoyed a performance of Thai dance set to traditional Thai music, performed by a Kazakh cultural troupe, adding a festive touch to the event.

Bisharashki v Thailand is a comedy that follows the misadventures of a wealthy Kazakh family in Thailand, where they face challenges and receive help from the Thai people and the Thai police. The film plays a key role in promoting Thailand's tourism in Kazakhstan, as much of it was filmed on the picturesque island of Koh Samui, showcasing Thailand’s beautiful beaches, culture, and the professionalism of Thai police officers.

From January to November 2024, over 200,000 Kazakhstanis have already visited Thailand, and this number is expected to continue rising. This is particularly influenced by the introduction of a visa exemption for the Kazakh nationals, effective from 15 July 2024, along with the availability of several direct flights each week between Thailand and Kazakhstan via Air Astana and Scat Airlines. Popular destinations for Kazakh tourists include Phuket, Koh Samui, and Pattaya.
