On 14 January 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana organized a charity activity on the occasion of Celebrations for the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua attaining 26,469 days of age, the same age as His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok The Great (Rama I).
          On this occasion, Dr. Orathai Phubunlap Gunaseelan, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i., along with the Embassy’s officials and staff, participated in the donation of books about Thailand in both English and Thai languages to the ASEAN book corner of Nazarbayev University. This activity has enhanced the understanding of the institution of the monarchy in Thailand and underscored the Embassy’s commitment in strengthening people-to-people connection in Kazakhstan.
          The ASEAN book corner of Nazarbayev University was established on 16 November 2022 by the joint efforts of the Astana ASEAN Committee, comprising the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, at the University’s library. At the ASEAN book corner, there are 4 shelves of books from about ASEAN and the Member States of ASEAN, including Thailand. It is expected that more activities to promote ASEAN awareness at the University will be organized, including academic seminars about ASEAN and Kazakhstan and ASEAN cultural events.
