On 22 July 2025, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomreks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, hosted the 39th Meeting of the Astana ASEAN Committee (AAC) at the Ambassador’s Residence. The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Mochamad Fadjroel Rachman, Ambassador of Indonesia to Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Mohd Adli bin Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to Kazakhstan, as well as officials from ASEAN Embassies in Astana.

On this occasion, Ambassador Piyapin expressed her appreciation to the AAC for their support and friendship throughout Thailand’s Chairmanship. She officially handed over Thailand’s AAC Chairmanship to Indonesia and reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to continue supporting AAC initiatives. She emphasized the importance of promoting ASEAN awareness in Kazakhstan through joint activities under the AAC framework, including the upcoming ASEAN Summer Festival, which will be held on 23 August 2025 at the Indonesian Cultural Center.
