On 6 April 2026, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, hosted a dinner in honour of a Thai delegation comprising medical professionals and executives from a leading innovation company, including Chulabhorn Royal Academy, the Faculties of Medicine of Mahidol University and Khon Kaen University, Samitivej Hospital Group, and C.T. Asia Robotics. The delegation visited Astana to participate in the Project "Thailand-Kazakhstan Academic Medical Collaboration on Oncology, Precision Medicine, Multidisciplinary Care, and Wellness", organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana from 5 to 9 April 2026. The event was also attended by Mr. Arman Issetov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, former Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Thailand, and his spouse.
On this occasion, the Ambassador underscored the importance of healthcare and medical cooperation as a high-potential pillar of Thailand-Kazakhstan relations. The visit of the Thai delegation reflects Thailand’s commitment to advancing science, research, and innovation diplomacy, a key component of its economic diplomacy. Such efforts aim to strengthen the exchange of knowledge, technology, and expertise between the two countries, enhance medical and healthcare capacities, and promote joint development of medical innovations. The initiative also contributes to advancing Thailand’s health and wellness tourism sector, reinforcing its goal of becoming a regional medical and wellness hub. The dinner was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere.
