On 26 May 2026, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, led a delegation comprising senior representatives from Almaty Region, Almaty City, and the DAMU Entrepreneurship Development Fund of Kazakhstan to participate in THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026, held from 26–30 May 2026 at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. Recognized as the world’s fourth-largest food and beverage trade exhibition, the event is jointly organized by Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Koelnmesse of Germany. This year’s edition marked the largest THAIFEX - Anuga Asia ever organized, covering more than 140,000 square meters of exhibition space and featuring 3,590 exhibitors from 56 countries worldwide.

 

During the visit, Ambassador Piyapin led the delegation on a tour of the exhibition, including a visit to the booth of Kazakhstan’s Aspan Asia, which showcased its instant noodle products, as well as a number of Thai companies with strong potential for cooperation with Kazakhstan in the fields of food products, processed food, high-value agricultural products, and related industries. The delegation also had opportunities to engage with Thai entrepreneurs and exchange views on business and investment prospects in Kazakhstan and the broader Central Asian region, which is increasingly emerging as a promising market for Thai businesses.

 

The participation of the Kazakh delegation in THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026 represents another important step in strengthening Thailand - Kazakhstan economic relations. The visit provided valuable opportunities for Thai businesses to meet and engage with senior representatives from Almaty Region and Almaty City, one of Kazakhstan’s most dynamic economic centers, while also promoting Thailand’s strengths and international reputation in the areas of food, agriculture, and tourism. The delegation’s participation formed part of the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana’s project entitled “Enhancing Thailand - Kazakhstan Economic Cooperation in High-Potential Sectors through Strategic Economic Networking and Participation in THAIFEX - Anuga Asia 2026,” implemented during 21 - 29 May 2026 to support Thailand’s Proactive Economic Diplomacy Policy and expand economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Thailand, Kazakhstan, and the wider Central Asian region.
