On 11 March 2026, Her Excellency Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan, held a meeting with Her Excellency Mrs. Akmaral Alnazarova, Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, at the Ministry of Health in Astana to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Thailand and Kazakhstan in the fields of healthcare and public health. During the meeting, the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan accepted the Ambassador’s invitation to attend the Thailand-Kazakhstan Networking Event on Excellence in Healthcare, Wellness & Medical Services, which the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana will organize on 6 April 2026 at the Sheraton Hotel Astana. The Minister also expressed her readiness to deliver the opening remarks together with the Ambassador. She also conveyed support for the Thailand-Kazakhstan Academic Medical Symposium, which the Embassy will co-organize with the National Research Oncology Center of Kazakhstan, the Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, and Astana Medical University on 7 April 2026.

Both activities form an integral part of the Embassy’s upcoming project, scheduled to be held on 5 - 9 April 2026 in Astana and aimed to promote cooperation between Thailand and Kazakhstan in healthcare and public health, as well as to facilitate knowledge exchange between medical institutions of both countries in areas such as oncology, modern medicine, and medical innovation. The initiative also serves as an opportunity to showcase Thailand’s strengths in healthcare and medical services in the Kazakhstan market, in line with Thailand’s policy of promoting the country as a regional and global hub for healthcare services. On this occasion, a delegation of medical specialists from leading Thai medical institutions, along with representatives from Thai medical innovation companies, will travel to Kazakhstan to participate in the above activities and to engage with relevant Kazakh institutions to further develop cooperation in healthcare and public health between the two countries.
