On 28 August 2022 H.E. Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Kazakhstan, attended the ASEAN Day activities at Burabay resort town. The activities were hosted by the Embassy of Vietnam in Nur-Sultan and were joined by 4 ASEAN Embassies, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and their family’s members.
On this occasion, Ambassador Chatchawan delivered remarks on activities that the Royal Thai Embassy in Nur-Sultan has organized and is scheduled to hold in September 2022 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Thailand-Kazakhstan diplomatic relations in 2022. One of the highlights of these activities include the Muay Thai event, scheduled to be held in Almaty on 10 - 11 September 2022. In addition, the details on the establishment of “ASEAN book corner” at a library in Nur-Sultan, suggested by Ambassador Chatchawan during the 37th Nul-Sultan - ASEAN Committee (NAC) meeting as an activity to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between ASEAN member countries and Kazakhstan, were further shared at the event. The ASEAN book corner is planned to be set up at the library of the Nazarbayev University.
The ASEAN Day activities in Burabay have demonstrated close and cordial friendship among ASEAN diplomatic corps in Kazakhstan. The event has also reflected the NAC’s readiness and determination to further enhance the cooperation between ASEAN and Kazakhstan.
