On 7 July 2026, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Serik Zharasbayev, Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of sports and tourism between Thailand and Kazakhstan. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the promotion of Muaythai in Kazakhstan. The Vice Minister expressed the Ministry’s readiness to support the Muaythai Heritage Promotion and Masterclass in Kazakhstan, which will be jointly organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana and the Sports Authority of Thailand in Astana on 20 - 21 August 2026. They also reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing sports cooperation and promoting greater people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
