Ambassador of Thailand to Kazakhstan Pays Courtesy Call on the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

On 8 July 2026, H.E. Mrs. Piyapin Niyomrerks, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Alibek Kuantyrov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to discuss ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between Thailand and Kazakhstan. The meeting also served as a follow-up to the key issues discussed during the official visit of H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, to Kazakhstan from 24 - 27 June 2026, particularly on enhancing economic, trade, and investment cooperation, advancing negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Thailand and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and expanding business opportunities and economic connectivity between Thailand and Kazakhstan. The two sides also discussed the implementation of the Muaythai Heritage Promotion and Masterclass in Kazakhstan, which will be jointly organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana and the Sports Authority of Thailand in Astana on 20 - 21 August 2026. Deputy Minister Alibek Kuantyrov expressed his full support for the initiative and noted that the project would play an important role in enhancing Thailand’s image and promoting Muaythai in Kazakhstan, while further strengthening the longstanding friendship and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
