On 12 and 15 September 2023, H.E. Mr. Chatchawan Sakornsin, Ambassador of Thailand, led a team of the Royal Thai Embassy in Astana for the implementation of a project of promoting Thai food and Thai food products in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan (respectively).

The activities in Almaty on 12 September 2023 included the presentation to more than 50 guests who are leading businessmen and trade distributors of Kazakhstan the world-famous Thai cuisine such as horsemeat Massaman curry and Tom Yum with seafood products, and the exhibition of the Thai food products and ingredients.

The Thai Night in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan, was held on 15 September 2023 to promote the outstanding world-famous Thai dishes such as Pad Thai and Tom Yum with shrimps. During this event, the Ambassador personally demonstrated the cooking of Pad Thai with authentic Thai ingredients. More than 150 guests who are politicians, high-ranking government officials, leading businessmen, and local media of Tajikistan, and executives and personnel of the international organizations located in Tajikistan attended the Thai Night in Dushanbe.

The project of promoting Thai food and Thai food products in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in Dushanbe, the Republic of Tajikistan, has concluded with great success. The project helps raise the popularity of Thai food and its products, promote opportunities and market share for Thai food products and ingredients in the Central Asian market. This can potentially lead to an increase in trade volume between Thailand and the Central Asia countries.
